Trunk or Treat

Here are a few pictures of Emily this weekend at Trunk or Treat. Layni was visiting for the weekend, so we went to different trunk or treats on both Friday and Saturday night. Emily wore a dress up outfit of Layni's. I think it is a fairy princess type dress, but Andy thought it looked like a bad prom dress from the 80's. Either way, she was cute...

Her and Simon always have a fun time together. They get so excited when they see each other and starting waving their arms around. Usually Emily immediately goes for his pacifier and yanks it out. (We are afraid she does that so she can kiss him whenever she wants.)

10 Princesses

This weekend Nana treated all the "princesses" to fun outing at Princesses on Ice in Virgina. It was so much fun to meet up with the whole family. And Emily enjoyed most of the show and was a pretty good sport even though it was nap time. After the show, we had a fun lunch at Boar's Head Inn and then drove to Ash's house and spent some time at a really fun nature park.

I love this picture. It is so cute and amazing that everyone is actually looking at the camera, even the little two. Granted they aren't smiling, but we will take what we can get. It will probably go down in history at the most painless picture and we have definitely had some painful ones. (Don't worry Nana and Christine, I won't tell everyone reading this what happened after the last cousin photo.)

Here are some pictures of us enjoying the show.

I have been trying to post a video of my adorable niece Leland singing the Sleeping Beauty song, but can't get it to load. Check back later for it!

We love Daddy!

Here is a cute picture of Emily and her daddy. Andy was holding her and eating a cracker and Emily decided she wanted some of that cracker too.

Here is a picture of Andy's shed he built. He has put in quite a few hours getting it looking so good. And you should see the inside! For those that know how organized Andy is, you can imagine how orderly everything is inside. Half is storage and half is a work bench. His first project is Christmas present for Emily, so I am sure he will be spending a lot of time out there.

And more about Andy, today he got a new job. He will be a Senior Financial Services Officer in a SECU branch. He has been thinking about moving to a branch for awhile, so he is looking forward to it. He won't be starting until after Thanksgiving, but will start learning all he can about lending before then. Yay Daddy, we are happy for you!

Birthday Party

We had a great time at Emily's party. Lots of friends and family came over to celebrate her big day. Andy cooked up some hot dog and hamburgers for everyone. All the kids had a fun time playing together with all the new toys. Here are some pictures from the party.

It took her awhile to get into the cake eating. First she was very daintly ate the icing, then she really got into eating the cake.

Wakey! Wakey! It's your birthday!

Today is Emily's 1st birthday! Here are some pics of her waking up today. Andy and I were singing to her which is probably why she looked so sad in one picture.

Here are some pictures of her birthday cake I made. My sister Christine provided some inspiration with her guitar cake for Leah's birthday. Check out her blog to see the pics. I made a flower, but don't look too close because it is not perfect, but I think pretty good for my 1st attempt.

I'll post pictures of the party later on.

Late Night with Roy

Last night, Emily attended her 1st Late Night with Roy Williams!! Andy and I have gone together every year since we met, so we wanted to continue this tradition with Emily. She was a little overwhelmed at first by all the people and sounds, but then she got used to it. She was clapping and kicking her feet to all the songs and dancing. She just sat on my lap eating her cheerios. She looked like she was eating popcorn watching a movie. It was so cute. Don't worry, "late night" lasted until 9:00 for us, so I didn't keep my baby up until midnight.

We also stopped by the Old Well for some pictures. We will show her these pictures and cry if she ever tells us she wants to go to NC State.

Here is a video of Roy dancing with Liquid Pleasure. I love Roy!

Wiped Out

Emily has been fighting her afternoon nap the last few days... it has been a little tough to deal with. Normally she is a great sleeper - goes down at the same time every day without making a sound. However the past 2 days, she screams and freaks out as soon as I turn on her sound machine. Today I was going to let her cry it out, but went and got her after 30 mins of screaming! She can't be dropping a nap already and shouldn't she drop the morning nap first???

Finally on Sunday she passed out on the couch at about 5. The great thing about all of this is that she has become so cuddly. Emily has never been one to cuddle or even fall asleep outside of the crib. This picture of us on the couch is very rare.

I would say all of this is because of teething, but I have said she was teething over 100 times in the last year and nothing has popped up. So who knows why she grumpy, but as long as she continues to cuddle up to me it will be bearable.

She has gotten pretty good at opening presents. And had so much fun playing with all her new toys this week.

Dixie Classic Fair

We had a fun day on Saturday. We went down to Kernersville and went to the Dixie Classic Fair with the Morris family. The Dixie Classic Fair is much like the State Fair, only a little smaller. And this year there was surprisingly less freaks than usual. For those not familiar with the fair, I can not even begin to explain the people that you will find there. Of course, I can't really say much since I go to the fair every year!

Emily had a great time at her first fair adventure. Here are a few pics:

Here is a video of Emily and I at the petting zoo. Many of you may be shocked to see that I am actually letting the animals eat out of my hands. I must say I was cringing inside, but I had to suck it up for my child. I was trying not to gag from the smell of the place. Despite what it looks like, I am not getting a soft spot for animals.
