Visit from Aunt Ashley and cousins

My sister and her girls, Leland and Lucy came to visit us this week. They just came for a short visit, but it was nice to see them. Leland is almost 3 and is a sweet girl with quite a spunky personality. However I do think I traumatized her when I warned her about our fish that tries to (and has once before) jump out of the tank. Leland and Emily had a fun time in the bath tub together. Emily thought it was funny to keep poking Leland's belly button. Lucy is 9 months and a very happy little girl. She army crawls everywhere and loves being in the middle of everything. Emily also enjoyed poking Lucy in the face and eyes. We need to work on the poking!

We played outside in the yard and swung in the hammock. ( I will have to link to Ash's blog when she posts the pictures of the girls in the hammock.) My mom came up for dinner Monday, which was extra nice since she brought the dinner. (Thanks, mom) We also went to the mall for a fun time at the play area. We are so glad Chuck and Ashley moved back to the east coast. I love seeing my cute nieces!

Sunday!!

Today was quite the stressful day at church. Emily has NO desire to sit reverently in church even with a variety of toys and snacks. My cup of snacks didn't work because I ran out of goldfish this morning and threw in some cherrios to fill it up. Emily happened to see some goldfish at the bottom and begins chucking the cherrios on the floor in attempt to get the yummy goldfish.

She wasn't very loud during sacrament, however she was failing herself all over the place and kicking her feet. Even though she may be too young to understand, we are trying to not let her play when we take her out of the chapel. So we continued to wrestle with her out in the hall.
Hopefully as she gets older, we can bargain and bribe her to remain still. Until then, I need to figure out something to entertain her.

After sacrament, Emily was out in the hall playing with this huge pink stuffed pig that Meg brought for the young women. Emily loved this thing-- she loves everything soft and pink! At one point, she was standing on it while pulled up to a table, so Meg tried to move the pig out from under foot. Since Emily is not so sturdy on her feet, she fell down and got a cut under her nose. It turned out to be a tiny cut, but Emily was screaming and I ran her to the bathroom (this was my first experience with blood!) We got her all cleaned up and calmed down and then he saw her Daddy and she started screaming again. This girl is a drama queen! Meg felt horrible and gave Emily a ton of candy in attempt to get on her good side again. I am pretty sure that worked.

I think I am ready for my Sunday nap after all this!

Here she comes!

Emily has started walking.... with our assistance! We take daily walks with Emily around the yard these days. She loves walking outside more than she does inside. I think she will be walking on her own pretty soon! Here are some pictures of us today.Nana and Larry were here for the day and enjoyed walking with her. Here is a video with Nana and Emily. Check out the new Nike's I got for Emily. They are too cute!

Febuary 2008 - I was a sophmore at UNC, living in Joyner dorm in a triple with Katherine and Sarah next door to Courtney, Erin and Ashley. I was sleeping on a very shaky loft that I had to climb up my dresser to get to. And my head was inches from the ceiling that often had ladybugs on it. We had a couch spray painted blue with jewels. Our day consisting of going to class (most of the time), hanging out at Mangum dorm (the guy's dorm), eating in the dining hall and watching Dawson's Creek and Jerry Springer. Oh, the good ol' days!

5 Things on my list of things to do today
1. Clean the bathrooms
2. Sweep/mop the floors
3. Wash the sheets
4. Grocery store
5. Go to dinner at Ashley and Noah's

Things I would do if I suddenly was a Billionaire
1. Buy a bigger house
2. Buy a minivan
3. Travel

3 of my bad habits (I asked Andy about these)
1. Not finishing projects
2. Hogging the laptop
3. Late for church (I am getting better)

Places I have lived
1. Kernersville, NC
2. Chapel Hill, NC
3. Durham, NC
4. Raleigh, NC
5. Knightdale, NC

Jobs I have had
1. Cashier at Countryside Cinema
2. Office Assistant in the Political Science Dept at UNC
3. Babysitter
4. Waitress at Applebee's
5. Brand Rep at Abercrombie & Fitch
6. VP HR Systems at SECU

Things most people don't know about me
1. I am 1 of the 200 finalists to win a brand new house in Wake Forest through a promotion with the Carolina Hurricanes. The winner will be announced at the game on April 4th, which they gave us tickets to. I know my odds are slim, but there is a chance, so wish me luck!
2. I have an EXTREME phobia of mice. I can't not even look at them on TV or especially at a pet store. They terrify me.
3. I do not like... American cheese, mayo, any kind of seafood or chicken on the bone (however every now and then I will eat some wings).

I don't even know if 5 people read my blog, so I am just tagging Jennifer S since she is new to the blogging world.

Silly Girl

Emily found her hat drawer yesterday, and was putting on her hats on at once. She is such a nut and keeps me laughing.

Emily turned 16 months yesterday. She is such a sweet girl and loves being silly.

Here are some things she is doing these days:

Pulling up on everything - can now pull things off the bathroom counter and the higher shelves in the bookcase.
Loves getting into cabinents and pulling everything out.

Loves getting tickled by Daddy when he gets home.

Enjoys being chased around the house.

Has fun standing at the windows and door yelling Hey to everyone outside.

Still having physical therapy once a week. This week she walked (while holding the therapist's hands) around the whole yard and down to the pond- big improvement.

Loves the wind in her face and loves going fast on her riding toy and grocery carts.
Loves music and dancing (hopefully she has Andy's rhythm).

Tries to dress herself .

Loves sitting on the couch, glider and office chair.
Still the love of our lives!

Hard Day's Work

As you can see from the picture, emily is the BOSS of the house. She rules the house, even in her pj's and with crazy bed head hair! After a hard day's work, she enjoys relaxing on the couch.
Her favorite thing these days is sitting on the couch, in my office chair and in the rocker in her roo. I think it makes her feel like a big girl. We need to get her her own special chair.

Happy Birthday Simon!

Emily's favorite boyfriend, Simon turned 1 yesterday, so we went over to his house last night to celebrate. Emily loved playing with all his new toys. She also loves sitting in their recliner and rocking. I put her and Simon in the recliner for some pictures. They were so CUTE! The pictures don't even capture how much fun they have together. They were both giggling and Emily kept poking him. She also was head butting him, which is her way of giving kisses. She will only kiss her baby doll (and some Elmo slippers I let her hold in the store yesterday), she just head butts or gives you her cheek when you ask for a kiss. But I can't complain about that since I have been known to do the same thing.

Trampoline Fun

On Saturday we went back to Kernersville to visit our families. First, we went to my Dad's house and actually exchanged Christmas presents, a little late I know. The weather was nice so we had a nice time playing outside with Layni. Emily went on the trampoline for the first time. Here is a video of Andy bouncing us. Emily was holding on to me for dear life, but would cry when he would stop jumping.

From my dad's we went to Andy's brother's house and had dinner. Emily had fun playing with her cousins Luke and Zac. They were being so sweet and loving to her, however I didn't get any pictures of it.
