Museum

Mom and I made a quick visit to the NC Museum of Science one day. The girls love that place and Nana had never been.

Thankfully the Butterfly Room was open (it was not the last few times we went). The girls love it in there. They got the Butterfly Identification sheet and tried to find every butterfly.

 

Abby especially, loved seeing and pointing to all the butterflies.

Nana's birthday

Nana was here to celebrate her birthday (in August).... so many months behind in blogging.

Anyways, we made a yummy chocolate cake and then went out to eat at a Japanese Steakhouse.

 

The girls were not quite sure about the show. Sarah especially did not like the old ketchup bottle with a string joke. She was a little hystercal.

 However they did like the happ Birthday song.

Big Girl

We finally turned the big girl around to foward facing in the car...

 

and she liked it for a day. Now she is backing to hating her car seat. Oh joy!

Dance Class

The girls were super excited to start taking dance classes again.

 We took last year off for soccer and preschool.

 

Sarah is taking a tumbling class and LOVES it. She is learing how to do cartwheels, back bends, handstands and forward rolls.

 

Emily is taking a tap/ballet class and is using the barre a lot in her ballet class.

 

Glad these girls love going to dance because it is a lot of work getting there straight from school and chasing Abby the whole time!

It is all worth it, right?

Last Days of Summer

Enjoying the last days of summer....

We visited the pool a lot this summer, the girls both got more comfortable in the water. 

Emily learned to swim. 

She was so determined to learn and practiced each time we would go.

Sarah started to love the mushroom waterfall thing and started to get her face in the water.

Spa Day and Haircut

One day the girls and I had a spontaneous spa day. Manicures, peducures and facials.

While they were laying down with their masks on, Emily said, "I hope no one comes over right now, because I would be really emabarrassed."

Sarah got a cute haircut recently... short and sweet!

NC Museum

Andy took an afternoon off one day and we took a quick trip to the NC museum of Natural Sciences. The girls love that place and it is FREE.

 

They got to pet a random miniature horse on the way to the museum.

 

 Then inside they got to pet a bearded dragon.

The T-Rex skull is a favorite!

 

 This time we happened to notice the "discovery room" with lots of hands on items for the kids. How have I missed this room during previous visits??!

Surgery #2

You may remember Andy's injury back in October 2011... his poor pinkie finger. After the first surgery in January, he was still unable to bend it.

 

So he had a second surgery. The surgery was alot less painful this time and thankfully he reacted well to the medicine. Of course, it helped that he had the 3 cutest nurses taken care of him.
