Memorial Day @ the Pool

We were so excited for our pool to open this year!

I wasn't sure how Abby was going to be at the pool. Last year she just laid in the infant carrier. This year is much different, but thankfully she LOVES the pool. She is pretty happy just playing with toys on the stairs with me. If we do go in the deep end, she wants to jump out of my arms and swim!
We try to go a couple of times a week and Abby has the tan to prove it.
I swear I put sunscreen on that kid!

Girls Nights Out

I am so blessed to have some pretty awesome friends and I love hanging out with them.
Somehow we manage to slip away for Girls Night Out quite often.
Whether it is a birthday dinner or movie, we always manage to have a good time!

 Movie Night!

Sadly, this dinner was a farewell for my dear friend Lindsay.

Not really a great picture of me,
but I am sure going to miss you, Lindsay!

Easter Weekend

On Good Friday, we went to the annual Easter Egg Hunt in our town. Unfortunately it was a nasty, rainy day, but the easter egg hunt went on.

No cute spring Easter Egg hunt pictures this year!

One of them was NOT happy about the rain.... can you tell?

Poor Sarah!

But at least they got a basket of easter eggs!

The Easter Bunny made a visit and the girls were the first in line for hugs.
Emily thought it was the coolest thing to be the first one to hug the bunny!

They also got to sit in the fire truck!

Right after the hunt, the clouds parted and the sun came out.
It was perfect for an afternoon on the pond with Aunt Sharon.

The next day we dyed Easter eggs. The girls always love it!

I found some cute stickers for the eggs, so they could make faces. They loved making silly faces.

Emily learns all kinds of things or maybe she just makes them up. She told me we had to hide the decorated eggs and then the Easter Bunny would find them and replace them with eggs filled with candy.

Unfortunately, the Easter Bunny didn't find one egg and it was found a few days later. Gross!

Backyard Camping

Andy decided to take the girls camping... in the backyard!  They invited Logan and Blake to join in on the fun. They had quite the setup in the backyard. He set up a tent down by the pond and even carried the air mattress down there. It was quite the comfy sleeping arrangments for outside.

I thought I would have a quiet night inside, however I was busy bringing them drinks, smores, bug spray and pillows. Not to mention cleaning up the dinner I made them! But at least I got to sleep in my big comfy bed. However Andy was on the air mattress with 2 girls and the noisy frogs. :)

I didn't get many pictures, but let's just say...
this girl had lots of fun!

Spring Break

For Spring Break, we headed down to my mom's house for a few days. My sister, Christine's family was there too, so we had lots of fun!

One day we visited New Bern. We had a nice picnic by the river. It was a beautiful  day with a beautiful view and beautiful weather. The kids just enjoyed running around and playing at the park. They also enjoyed watching the ducks in the river.

I love my nieces, they are so sweet to my girls!
Emily and Sarah think they are the coolest girls in the world.

Then we headed to Tryon Palace (the former governor's mansion). We decided to skip the actual tour in the mansion because it is more geared to older kids. We toured the gardens and the kids history museum.

Of course, we made the kids take a group photo at every stop.

NCSU Farm Days

Every year I always hear about Farm Days AFTER the fact, so this year we were excited to go for the first time! The girls loved it! Sarah has a new found love for all animals and was very into petting them all. We saw bunnies, lambs, goats and pigs, horses and BABY CHICKS. They loved the baby chicks!

They also got to sit in the tractors, milk a "cow" and rope a "bull.

Of course, the best part is just being with our friends.... AND the free ice cream!
What a fun day!

On a side note, Sarah has really come a long way with her fears. She used to scream at mascots, but after a slight hestitation she ran right up to this one.
