Emily's PIRATE Birthday Party

Emily requested a PIRATE birthday party this year. She has a lot of "boy" friends, so she wanted something both girls and boys would like.  I was initially thrown for a loop, but I think it turned out cute. Of course, I had to do a PINK pirate party.

Sorry this picture is a little dark, but it was the food table. We had Cannonballs (cocktail meatballs), Jolly Rogers (apple slices), Scallywags (fruit kabobs), Shark bait (gold fish crackers) and Fish Stew and chips (chips and salsa). And of course a treasure chest cake full of jewels and coins.

For the games, the kids got a pirate patch, pirate bandana and a sword and got to Walk the Plank and play musical chairs (to pirate music).

Then after eating, we gave them a map that led to the TREASURE (pinata)!

The cake was a little stressful for us inexperienced cake decorators. I actually had to walk away and turn it over to Andy.

Thanks to all her sweet friends, she got a lot of really nice presents.

So glad all of her mateys could help celebrate her 6th birthday!

Happy Birthday Emily!

On October 14th, my beautiful girl turned 6! She was so excited!

We had her favorite dinner.... steak, spaghetti noodles and fruit salad!
And a rainbow cake.... which was a big letdown. :(

My Emily is such sweet girl. She has grown up and changed so much over the years. She can still be a little shy, but overall she has really opened up. She seems to enjoy school, but every once in a while she complains about going because it is too hard she says. She is learning to read, but would rather be drawing all day. She is such a talented artist. Her pictures have such amazing details. She loves to make cards for everyone in the family or anyone sick. The amount of paper she uses daily is insane! She loves to dance and has some pretty good moves. She plays so well with Sarah and they have funny little cheers and games they play. She does have a stubborn side to her and often only wants to do what she wants to do... when she wants to do it!!!  She wants to know everything about everything and asks questions all day long. She is a very deep thinker. She is also very loving. I cherish the big hug and kiss I get every morning and afternoon at the bus stop. I love my Emily! Happy Birthday!

:Late Night with Roy!

Per our annual tradition, we went to Late Night with Roy again this year.

However this year was the best yet! We got there before the doors opened and Andy walked around trying to find the door with the shortest line. He soon called me to say he snuck inside an open side door and for me to come in that door too. Say what??! You that know me, know that I am not really open to the idea of sneaking in WITH 3 KIDS. How do you sneak 3 kids in???  However, even though I was all flushed and shaky, I found the propped open door and took the kids inside. We were the very FIRST fans inside! However I convinced Andy to just take the second row and not the first row.
And to make it even better, my roommate Michelle met us there!

The girls were definitely not bored this year! They loved seeing the action up close. They loved the silly dances and watching the cheerleaders. They even got a picture with 2 cheerleaders!

GO HEELS!
