Friends

Look at these cute friends! They were playing in the hat drawer and I couldn't resist lining them up for a picture!

4th of July

4th of July was pretty low key around here. Once we got back from the lake, we realized Emily had pink eye. Ewww! Turns out my sister's family had it too and the pharmacist at the lake said it was going around because of all the bacteria in the lake. Ewww again!

We did manage to stop by our community's celebration for just a bit. However once we got there, we learned they had to postpone the fireworks for the next night. We decided not to go back the next night because the slighest mention of the word 'fireworks' brings tears to Emily's eyes. She really does not like loud noises and it is not worth it to take her if she isn't going to enjoy it. Making year we will try it again.

GRASS!

I never thought I would be doing a post about GRASS... but I just love our new yard that I have to post about it. Andy has put in alot of work in making our yard look great, however he just couldn't get any grass to grow. We had a lot of big bare spots. The biggest eyesore was the ditch in the front yard. So after much deliberation, we paid a landscaping company to come put in sod.
They showed up early one morning and prepped the yard

Then the 9 pallets of sod showed up

Beautiful!
It is already starting to blend in nicely.

1st Haircut

My family (and a few others) so nicely pointed out Sarah's mullet. I knew it should be cut, but it has taken so long for any hair to grow that I just didn't want to cut it.
But I gave the scissors to Ashley and told her to go for it.

I wish I had taken a "Before" picture, but here is the "After" picture. I think it looks really cute and hopefully it will graw faster now that it is been trimmed.

Happy Birthday!

My sister's baby Charlotte turned 1 while we were together, so of course we had a little party for her.

The party hats were a big hit.

And of course, the cake was a hit. The kids look like vultures about to attack it.

We love you Charly!

Ouch!

We had lots of fun trying to cool pictures out on the lake. It is especially fun to catch a good wipeout. We took 1000's of pictures, but I just picked a few.

Chuck being very serious about his ride

Chuck has a signature tongue hanging out face

Don't you like that wipeout??! The raft is no where in sight, but you can see Chuck hitting the water.

Todd had some good faces too.

About to fall out, but he held on!

Pretty good wipeout, huh??!

However this was the best wipeout of the week!!! Ouch!

Unfortunately there aren't any cool pictures of Andy. He refused to be pulled by Chuck and Todd without a kid in the raft with him. He said he was traumatized as a teenager being dragged around the lake. He didn't want to break his neck.

Here is a pic of him and Afton.
(I think he is crying.... love ya babe!)

On the Lake

I am so glad we had a boat while we were at the lake. Everyone loved riding in the boat or getting pulled behind. Here are a few pics of everyone on the raft.
Ashley and I went together

It started out as a nice peaceful ride

Then Todd let us have it

Somehow we managed to stay on the raft through all that, but then Todd flooded our raft at the very end and we flew out the back.
We had fun, but I was sore the next day!

Nana and Steen

Larry

Nick and Leland... how stinkin cute are they??!

Emily and Andy
Emily had fun, but didn't want to go out the next day because she said she didn't like all the water hitting her face. However she did go out later with Andy again and then she told me she just pretended it was candy hitting her face and not water! :)

Ashley and Lucy
I will do another post with some of Todd and Chuck's adventures. We got some cool pictures!
