Visitors

We have had a quite a few visitors lately.
My BFF Shawn was in town visiting her family and was sweet enough to drive up here to visit us. It was so nice to catch up with her and see sweet Evan. That little girl is a cutie!

Andy's Aunt Sharon came over one Sunday afternoon for a nice visit and dinner. It was good to catch up with her and of course she got roped into reading Emily's favorite book, Pinkalicious!

Then Layni (my 6 yr old half sister) was here for the weekend. Emily was so excited to have a "sleepover." They were up giggling ALL NIGHT. Emily did not go to bed until almost midnight! Of course, I made her take a nap at 11 the next morning. They had a lot of fun together running around the house, playing at the park and going out to eat. It was definitely nice for me to have a little helper around the house!
Simon came over one night. Emily had just woken up from a nap when he got here and she was GRUMPY. Simon kept trying to get her off the couch to play with him and Emily refused. So Simon moved on....
Emily better watch out because the boys might move on to the fun loving little sister if she is too moody!
We also had our old neighbors over for dinner. I do not miss our old house or neighborhood, but I defiintely miss the great neighbors we had, but at least we haven't moved too far so we can still stay in touch!

Eating it up!

Of course I am behind in posting this, but Sarah has started to feed herself lately. She prefers feeding herself rather than me spoon feeding her. In fact, she spits out the food I try to feed her. I have been creative in coming up with food for her to eat and she LOVES it all. This girl loves to eat! Her favorites include bread, watermelon, steamed carrots and pasta.

However she does love when big sister feeds her, of course. But I am not sure how much is actually making it to her mouth! After a few bites, Emily said, "OK Mom I am all done. It is your turn now." Thanks for the help Em!

On the go!

Sarah has started crawling!
Mainly she has been doing an army crawl, but now she is getting up on a fours. She loves going room to room, opening drawers and knocking over trash cans. Fun times ahead!!!

I love her scrunched up face!

My little girl!

I don't have time to post any pics right now, but just want to get down a few cute things Emily said.

One morning she woke up and walked over to me (while I was still sleeping pe acefully) and said, "Mommy, the sun said it Wake Up Time." I replied, "Sometimes we ignore what the sun says."

Today I told her it was time to eat lunch. She replied, "No, I just want to dance!" As a matter of fact, she is twirling around right now. She has been dancing all day long.

Tonight we are watching Simon and Emily asked, "Can Simie come up to my room with me?" My mind fast forwarded about 13 years and i just about had a panic attack!

Benner Cousins!

My sister Christine (aka Steen) comes down to my mom's house every summer for a week. She hinted that she might not come this summer, but after I threathened to not speak to her anymore, she decided to still come! As always, we had lots of fun, however we did miss Ash and her girls. Here are some things we did:

We went the pool

Went to a fossil digging site - yes, it was pretty much what it looks like - a big pile of rocks. I guess the rocks are from the bottom of the ocean, so there was a lot of shark's teeth in the rocks.

There was also a HUGE shark's mouth inside that Emily was "so scared' of. She did gain the courage to go inside and go past the shark to go to the restroom, however she had her face buried on my mom's shoulder. But she was very happy to report afterwards that she opened her eyes to look at the shark. Way to go girl!

I love this picture! Usually Emily is in the middle when they give hugs and it is so cute!

There was also a lot of cuddling! Christine brought a babysitter/friend on the trip and it was so nice to have an extra hand around. Sarah and Esther formed a special bond and Sarah loved falling asleep on Esther every night, however I didn't get any pictures of that.

Then they stopped by our house on the way home so they could see it.
And Sarah had lots of fun during their short visit...

Getting pushed in the baby doll stroller

And getting pulled around the kitchen floor on a blanket... fun times!

We love you guys and hope to see you soon!
