I just realized I never posted about this, but Sarah started pulling up about 2 weeks ago. I think the first time was on the 12th. She really loves to pull up and see what big sis is doing on the couch. However more often than not she gets pushed down by Emily, who loves to say, "No, baby, No!. (We are working on playing together and sharing.)

"Nana's Family and Friends"
Back in April, Emily sang with a group my mom put together for a show in her area. Last weekend the group was asked to sing "This is Your Land" again for a Constitution Day event. The girls did such a good job, especially since it was hot and sticky.
And my adorable neice Leland sang a solo. She sang "Proud to be an American" and it was darling. She was very confident up there in front of all the people. I was so proud of her.

Date Night
A few weeks ago we had a fun date night for our friend Dan's birthday. We went to Cheesecake Factory and it was so yummy!!! There is nothing better than spending a night out with my husband and friends, eating yummy food and laughing so hard while my mom is home watching the girls.
Fun with Avery and Katelyn!
We got to spend lots time with Kat and her girls when they were in town. The girls were instant friends, which is good since Kat and I will be friends forever!!
We hung out at our house one day and the girls enjoyed some Bella, Bella, Bella, Dancerella and then wrestle mania!
Then we went to Jumpin Beans another day and had picnic and threw pennies in the fountain.
Honestly, we didn't plan to have our kids at the same time... but, Kat let me know when it is time for #3!

UNC Girls
I was so lucky to be able to see my UNC girls recently... all of them except Courtney. It was so good to get together with them and catch up.
First we had a baby shower for Sarah while she was in town for her sister's wedding
The baby shower was full of lots of kids, which probably was a little overwhelming for the mom to be, but her and Patrick are going to be great parents.
Then the next weekend, we had a baby shower for Michelle, who is also have a boy! (We need more boys in this group!) We were thrilled that Mandy Mo drove down for this one.
We finished the night by getting dessert with just the girls and had a blast reminiscing about the good ol' days. I met most of these girls my freshman year in Joyner Dorm and continued to live with them throughout college and after and they have been the best girlfriends a girl could have!
Wrightsville Beach
How do I always get so far behind in my blog posts??! It must have something to do with Emily no longer taking naps, my part time job (which has required full time hours lately) or my new responsibility as teaching the adult Sunday School class every week, all while still trying to keep up with the everyday cooking, cleaning and errands. I am just tired thinking about it!
Regardless, here are a some cute pictures of our day trip to Wrightesville Beach.... weeks ago. It was a spontaneous decision, so we didn't leave until 12. But it turned out to be a great little escape. The drive was only 2 hours and we just hung out on the beach and in the water and then we got dinner and headed home. Wonderful day!
Emily spent the whole time in the water this time. We brought along a little wading pool to keep Sarah entertained, but she still just wanted to eat the sand!

We love cousins!
My sister Ashley came by to visit recently. Emily was so excited to hold Baby Charly. She asks about her all the time.
The girls had so much fun playing dress up and just acting plain silly!
And I was happy to hang out with Ash and get my snugglies from Charly!
We are so excited Ash and family have moved closer. Still not in NC, but getting closer every move!

Singin' in the Rain
One Sunday Emily walked outside to get the paper with me and it was just starting to sprinkle. Since I am such a nice mom, I said she could play outside in the rain. She loved it, as you can tell. I have so many memories of playing in the warm summer rain with my friends and younger sister
Also, the princess dress up has become an every day occurrence in our house. For the past weeks, she wants to dress up the moment she wakes up. Now that she has started dance, she wants to wear is her leotard and dance skirt ALL day long.

I need to dance
"I need to dance!" is often heard in our house. Whenever Emily hears a song on TV, she stops what she is doing and runs into the room and says, "I need to dance!" Or when I tell her it is time to clean up or eat lunch, she says, No, I need to dance!"
So we were very excited when Lindsay told us about a dance session at her library. Emily was even more excited that she got to wear a leotard and tutu that Kaitlyn lent us. The class was an hour long and Emily was so into it and stay focused the whole time. Can't you tell she was having fun??!
