Meeting baby sister

My mom brought the girls to the hospital shortly after Abby was born. I don't think Emily could have gone to bed that night without coming to see Abby. We have been talking about the baby coming for so long, so she was excited she was finally here. She told me tonight that Nana was screaming when we called to tell her the baby was born.
I like Sarah's face -- not quite sure about this new baby!

However Emily was already in love with her!
She is going to be a great big sister!

One big, happy family!

Abigail Kate Morris

The night before
At my appointment on Friday, the doctor agreed to schedule my induction for the next day. Another doctor had previously said he would induce me at 39 weeks due to my fast labors. I had to kind of beg the doctor I saw on Friday to go along with it, but he did. So my mom came up Friday night and Andy and I squeezed in a date night and got packed up ready to go to the hospital the next morning.

My appointment was schedule for 7:30am, however I was supposed to call to make sure there was room for me. Unfortunately when I called, they said they were all full. What??! I was not expecting that. She had me call back at 9:00 (still full) and then again at 12:30. Thankfully she called me back at 2 and said to come in at 3:30. Finally!

Getting settled
Waiting for an epidural
We got checked in and in our room by 4:00 pm. Everything was very relaxing and laid back since I was not in labor yet. Our nurse was great and we chatted with her while she got me all hooked up. Dr. Bass came in and him and Andy tried to convince me to not get an epidural. He agreed with Andy that everything was going to go super fast and I would be able to handle it since I didn't have an epidural with the other 2 girls. I was sure I wanted an epidural this time. At 5:30, Dr. Bass came in and broke my water. He wanted me to have 2 big contractions before I got the epidural. Those 2 contractions came quick and HURT. Andy ran out to get the nurse so she could page the anesthelogist. He came up quickly and got things going. The epidural started to take effect and I knew it was already time to push. After 3 pushes she was here!

Still Pregnant!

38 weeks
Yes.... I am still pregnant. Any time I show up for dance class or church everyone is so surprised to see me saying, "Wow still no baby!" So after the threat of premature delivery and bed rest for 6 weeks, here we are at 39 weeks! I never thought I would make it this far. My other girls came at 37 weeks, but not this little girl. I still haven' decided about getting an epidural, getting induced or even the baby's name, so I guess it is good that she isn't here yet. Thankfully my mom comes up every weekend to be here "just in case" that baby comes and she helps me get ready. We got the girls' closet organized, but still need to get their bunk beds. I washed all the baby clothes and got them put up, but still need to redecorate her room. She is going to be here before we know it!

GNO and Slumber Party

The other night I went out for a girls night out. It is so nice to get out and enjoy a nice dinner filled with laughter and good food, especially after being on bed rest for so long.

While I was out, Andy and the girls had a slumber party. However I am pretty sure Andy doesn't know anything about throwing a slumber party. So I made sure to teach my girls about a proper slumber party the next night. We painted nails, fixed hair, made smoothies and popcorn and then settled down for "Princess and the Frog."

The movie of course led to a dance party.

Pretty fun weekend!

Sunny Day!

Everyday Emily wakes up and asks, "Is it summer yet? I really want to wear summer clothes!" One day last week, I was able to tell her it wasn't summer, but it felt like it outside.
She quickly put on summer clothes and headed outside. We had lots of fun spending the day in the sun! And there is just something about a fun day in the sun that makes you want to take LOTS of pictures!

Jumping!

Riding bikes - she really needs a real bike.
Her legs are too long for the tricycle!

Snack break

Blowing bubbles

We enjoyed some time down by the pond

We also enjoyed time on the hammock. Well, Sarah doesn't like the hammock, so she just pushed us. Don't you love my big belly that Emily is using as a pillow!

Then we finished the morning off with a picnic!

I love these little girls and I was so happy to spend time having fun with them before the baby comes!
